I have been designing systems, leading teams, and delivering innovative solutions for over 20 years. I suppose I should feel like I’ve seen everything twice and that the work is becoming old hat, but that’s not the case. The infrastructure / networking changes that have taken place over the last 4 – 5 years, the ones that have made mobile computing a reality, have given us one more opportunity to move the solutions even closer to the business problems we are solving…
The next generation of green applications, designed for handhelds, but constructed atop solid service oriented architectures will usher in yet another period of business prosperity based upon even greater productivity gains and lower operating costs.

The focus of my career has been designing and delivering Service Oriented Architectures rather than merely moving data from one to place to another. My underlying goal has always been to free the presentation layer, and thus the user from the chains of hardware, geography, and time. My belief is that the next generation of green applications, designed for handhelds, but constructed atop solid service oriented architectures will usher in yet another period of business prosperity based upon even greater productivity gains and even lower operating costs.
I am confident that, this is the area where agile teams with solid strategic leadership and the ability to listen deeply to the needs of business will create solutions that meet today’s business needs while simultaneously delivering platforms that empower businesses to rise above tomorrow’s challenges.
In short we are opening yet another exciting chapter in our industry, and I am proud to be a part of it!
