iPad Accessories

My iPad is perfect when I can hold it in my hand…  It’s a great mobile device, but when I sit down at my desk, I really need a stand of some sort to get real benefit from my iPad.  I like to keep things simple, so I don’t use too many iPad Accessories.  I do make room in my travel bag for this accessory because it solves a very real problem in a very elegant fashion and doesn’t take up too much space.

FlipBlade

The FlipBlade from Belkin is an extremely simple and very inexpensive way to  turn your iPad into a true asset on your desktop.  As iPad accessories go, this is a great one…  depending on your perspective this is either a brilliant exercise in minimalist design or a spartan like implement that does its job as expected.  In order to ensure fairness, here’s what the company had to say about the stand:

The stand is light weight, very thin, and has held up well.   It allows me to tilt the iPad to just the right angle for the task at hand.   Switching from portrait to landscape is a simple matter of picking up the iPad and flipping it on its side or standing it right up.  What did Thoreau say… “Simplicity, Simplicity, Simplicity…”   I agree completely!

 

Belkin iPad Accessories

To be honest, finding something like this from Belkin was a bit of a surprise for me. I guess in my mind, I’ve always associated Belkin with cables and the like. They seem to be keeping up, or even staying ahead of the time. The offer a fairly full line of iPad accessories that you can review here.

Things I think are missing or that could be done better

• In a perfect world, I’d have the same stand, but it would automagically set the device at eye level as soon as I set it on my desk.  In other words, this one’s about as close to perfect as I could hope for.
